The world-renowned TED folding chair, designed by Niels Gammelgaard (Denmark) in 1976, was produced in Italy. Its widespread appeal can be attributed to its particularly comfortable feeling when seated. The chair carried the TED name when it was introduced to IKEA's lineup in 1976, being featured in their 1979 catalogue for the following ten years. In later years, two small tables and a wall-mounted folding table were added to this collection.
