Kwast writes in the foreword: 'According to a letter from the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute, the declination at IJuiden has not changed. Institute, the declination at IJmuiden averaged about 10° 42' West in 1926, and is estimated to average 10° 30' in 1927.'
