Black vintage IKEA, Niels Gammelgaard, JÄRPEN lounge chair, Sweden, 1983-1991

Ingvar Kamprad tasked Niels Gammelgaard with the design of the JÄRPEN easy chair, which constituted a unique experimentation with materials and construction techniques. The chair was to be able to be produced industrially and offered at a relatively low price point – without the use of any filling or fabric. 

Despite its aesthetic, the JÄRPEN lounge chair offers exceptional comfort.

Black lacquered metal frame.

Wide: 65 cm x Deep: 70 cm x High: 71 cm x Seat height: 73 cm.

Good vintage condition, normal signs of use befitting of its age.
