Cosmos / space race related pin from the USSR, 1960s
History
We're not completely sure, but after searching for 4 X 1959, or, 4th October 1959 we've found that on this date something happened in the space race history books. Luna 8K72 with Luna 3 (E-2A-1) made a so called 'high earth orbit' and returned with the first images of the far side of the moon(!). A Wikipedia article has another date for the time of the pictures, the 7th of October 1959. But still: this pin has something to do with high orbit, moon-related pictures. Perhaps we'll dive in a little deeper later and write a full article about this as we've got more cosmos pins!
